Product Details

The CWDM MUX and DEMUX DUAL FIBER LGX box features two ports: the EXP (Expansion) port and the Monitor port. The EXP port serves to augment the capacity of fiber optic communication systems by enabling connections to other CWDM devices, thereby adding more channels to existing fiber links. By incorporating extra optical fibers and CWDM MUX DEMUX units, it facilitates an increase in wavelength division multiplexing channels. Meanwhile, the Monitor port acts as an interface for monitoring purposes, allowing the connection of optical power meters or similar monitoring tools to continuously track the optical power levels of each channel. The main objective of the monitor ports is to offer real-time performance insights and assist in network troubleshooting.

FAQ

Q: How many optical fibers does this CWDM MUX DEMUX support?

A: D-NET's CWDM MUX and DEMUX 8CH with 1310nm LGX box supports dual fiber mode, so two fibers are required for connection. Each pair of CWDM MUX DEMUX requires the use of two optical fibers.

Q: What is an EXP port?

A: The EXP port represents the Expansion Port, which is used to add additional channels to the CWDM system. It can be used to expand the system's capacity when adding more channels in the future.

Q: Why use the Monitor port?

A: The Monitor port provides real-time monitoring and analysis capabilities for CWDM system performance. By monitoring the optical power of different channels, signal strength changes or faults can be detected in a timely manner.
